entire box is adorned with a Turkish Ottoman carving pattern. The
hand cut relief carving covers even the bottom of the box.

underside of the top of this box has a small plinth attached.
This is a recipe card holder, to allow the chef to place a recipe on
top for easy viewing. |

box was designed by and made for my wife for her 30th birthday.
We have been quickly filling the space with our tried & true
culinary favorites. It is made from Quarter-sawn White Oak. The outside was fumed with ammonia to darken it prior to cutting the lid off. The inside remains much lighter as a result. It was finished with linseed oil, shellac, and colored paste wax. |
