The design was taken from an article written by Christian Becksvoort and modified slightly. I shortened the height of the rack from the more common tall style. Also, instead of a decorative finial I turned a small bowl to have a spot to place your keys. |

The leg is joined to the six sided column with a sliding dovetail joint. The rocket shape of the leg was derrived from traditoinal Shaker tea tables. |
The Shaker Coat Rack is made from Vermont grown Sugar Maple. It is finished with boiled linseed oil, shellac and paste wax. |
