The
cabinet was made from a thick piece of timber, resawn down the
thickness and mitered on each corner. This allows for a continuous
grain pattern from corner to corner. The front doors were hinged on the
miter, and upon opening pivot perfectly on the corner of the case.

Made of Shorea, also known as Meranti. This was a commisioned piece designed as a meditation altar space. It is finished with boiled linseed oil, shelac and wax. |
